5 ways to wear your underwear as outerwear

With celebs like Kendal Jenner, Bella Hadid and Rihanna embracing the look, this is one trend that shows no signs of slowing down. We list our top 5 looks and show you how you can incorporate this star style into your wardrobe:

1 Go sheer

When Carine Roitfeld embraces a trend you know it is one to copy. She recently paired a sheer black top with a ruffled skirt (grown up ruffles are also big this season) and chunky black boots. This is a perfect way to toughen up the look and stops it from being overtly sexy. Sheer bodysuits over vintage lace bralettes are a great way to channel this look, plus bodysuits give a lovely clean finish to an outfit. Check out our bodysuits here >

2 Back to the 90s….

Layering is key for this look. Why not try a brightly coloured bralet over a t-shirt or a silk cami over a fine knit polo neck. This means you can show off your smalls without having to reveal too much and it is a great option whilst the weather is still a little cool. Why not try our Heidi Klum Venetian Embrace Chemise over a white t-shirt or the Cosabella Cosmopolitan Cami over grey or camel coloured knitwear.

3 Get Strappy

The days of thick, greying bra straps are over. From intricate criss-cross styles to sporty side bands, a subtle flash of strap is great way to experiment with this trend. We recommend the Cosabella Empire Triangle Bralet with our Koral Aura Open Back Tank Top to really show off the delicate floral motif on the back of the bralet.

4 Sports style

Don’t limit this trend to lingerie – our gym wardrobes have seen a real boost over the last few years and sports bras now come with serious fashion credentials as well as superior fabrics and enhanced support. We are crushing on the latest collections from We Are Handsome… The Basque Bralette is great for smaller busts with its skimpy straps and bold print whilst the Sensia Bralette has more support with a popular racerback style.

5 Peek a boo bras

Whether it’s a pretty strap detail paired with a casual cami or a cutesy crop top to add a feminine elegance to masculine tailoring, this is a trend we love. Our top pick is the padded Cosabella Never Say Never Sweetie Bra  which is perfect to provide a little extra support and to wear under anything sheer. It’s available in black, white and nude – and we even stock a maternity version.
